Life is a journey, and it is my belief that we are continually striving to grow and change in order to reach our goals. Most of the time we are able adapt to what life throws at us and move towards our intended direction, but sometimes we get stuck. Well developed patterns of thinking, feeling and interacting are no longer effective in navigating personal, professional and relational challenges. Typically, we are mostly unaware of these patterns, so we continually engage in them expecting different results. It is at this time we may begin to feel frustrated, anxious, depressed or unhappy. If you are seeking out additional help in navigating these experiences, psychotherapy is a great place to start.
Psychotherapy provides an opportunity to engage in a collaborative process
to explore and understand yourself more fully. Self-knowledge may help you
to engage authentically in more meaningful and fulfilling activities and relationships.
It is my goal to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your concerns and
interact in a therapeutic relationship. Through active listening and unconditional positive
regard, I strive to understand your unique perspective and work collaboratively with
you to facilitate your own personal growth. Focused reflection, education and skills training
are additional ways we’ll identify and change unhealthy or ineffective cognitive,
emotional or behavioural strategies or patterns.
Sessions are typically spaced once per week or once every two weeks to start.
As we move further in the process more time will be given to try out new
skills and strategies.
